WFMY News2--Saturday's  suspected murder-suicide at Forsyth Medical Center raises questions of safety in public places where anything can happen.

Guilford County Sheriff B J Barnes stopped by the WFMY News 2 studio to share some safety tips that just might keep you from getting caught in the crossfire.

"First off, anytime you see anything suspicious you need to stay away from it. In fact the acronym there is Run, Evade, Attack. First thing you need to do is get away from danger whatever you can do. The second thing you need to do is evade, hide if you possibly can...if you can't do any of that and you think you can then attack...because maybe that's the only thing that saves your life."

Barnes says it is also important to report anything suspicious.  He says events like this are rare, but if people are vigilant they can make them even moreso.
