High Point, NC -- A High Point-based furniture retailer has decided to continue marketing Paula Deen's collection.

Jim Scheffer, president and CEO at Universal Furniture International, said the decision came after careful consideration.

"Several factors contributed to this decision - our belief that Paula is not the person portrayed by the media, our confidence that the brand will continue to have significant retail value, and most importantly the feedback that we have received from you, our customer," Scheffer said in a statement.

Paula Deen lost her contract with the Food Network and several publishers and retailers , including Wal-Mart and Sears, after she admitted to using racial slurs.

Universal Furniture, which owns the licenses to Paula Deen's Home Furniture brand, debated the fate of her furniture line in June
