Greensboro--After a few dry days in the Piedmont, showers and thunderstorm will be on the increase for later today and especially on Sunday.
High pressure has moved off the North Carolina coast. Surface winds have become southerly. This will help increase moisture over the area. Also a cold front will approach and move through the Piedmont late Sunday night
The above pattern will bring a 40% to 50% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms for today and Sunday. They will be more likely in the afternoon and evening hours.
The high temperature today and Sunday will be below our normal of 88. Highs will be near 82 both days.
The cold front will move off the the coast as drier air filters into the region. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be dry with highs in the low to mid 80's.
