Triad -- A batch of rain parked over the North Carolina Foothills this morning and brought flooding rains to those counties. Catawba County had the most problems with the Hickory airport picking up 5.2" of rain. Some spots got more than 7" between last night and lunch time.
The rain moved east this afternoon and drenched the Triad. There were Flash Flood Warnings for Stokes, Wilkes and Forsyth Counties at one point.

There could still be a few showers this evening but the heaviest rain is likely to our east. Tonight's low will be in the upper 60s.
A cold front will move into the mountains by Sunday morning before making it's way across the rest of the state through the day. That will bring a chance of afternoon thunderstorms one more time before the front moves on.
Monday could bring a few morning showers but after that, a less humid air mass will move in. Dew points will be at very low levels for this time of year. It will feel quite pleasant even with highs in the mid 80s.
