RALEIGH, N.C. -- An investigation into a well drilling accident involving former Guilford County Commissioner Billy Yow is complete.
The N.C. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Division said they did not find any violations of their standards. No citations were issued regarding the June 20 accident in Colfax.
Yow owns D & Y Well Drilling, Inc. While on a job site, he sustained multiple face fractures after he was hit on the head above his right eye. He was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical for treatment.
Sheriff BJ Barnes told WFMY News 2 last week that Yow's condition is improving and both doctors and family members are positive. Barnes said Yow asked him to voice his thanks for community members who kept him in their prayers and sent cards.
