GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A pedestrian killed early Saturday morning while walking on a ramp from U.S. 220 to I-40 has been identified.
Police said the woman was 38-year-old Binita Omora Smith.

At this time, no charges have been filed against the driver of the 1996 Chrysler Concord that hit her. The Greensboro Police Department said they are still investigating this accident.
Smith was hit by the car shortly after 5:30 a.m. Saturday. The driver was exiting U.S. 220 N onto I-40 W and tried to avoid Smith as she went around the curve of the ramp, according to the police department.
Smith was pronounced dead by Guilford County EMS at the location of the accident.
