GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Several upper-level disturbances, an approaching cold front and daytime heating will produce showers and thunderstorms today until this evening.
The cold front will move just east of the Triad late tonight before becoming stationary. Drier air will filter into the Piedmont for Friday and Saturday.
Showers and thunderstorms could develop any time today, but they are more likely during the afternoon and evening hours. The more organized thunderstorms could produce heavy rainfall along with a slight risk of hail and damaging winds. Clouds and the threat of rain will hold high temperatures to the lower 80s this afternoon.
Friday and Saturday look nice for our area. Temperatures will actually warm a few degrees with the extra sunshine. Highs will be in the mid-80s with a few spots reaching the upper-80s on Saturday. Lows at night will be in the comfortable mid-60s.
Another cold front will increase the chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday with a high in the mid-80s.
