Greensboro, NC -- The victim of a recent domestic dispute died from her injuries Saturday afternoon, police say.

Laurrissa Armstrong, 62, was shot several times by her husband in front of her Adams Farm Parkway apartment Aug. 29. Paramedics transported her to Moses Cone Hospital, where she'd been in critical condition until her death, police say.

Police found her husband, 61-year-old Bruce Ray Armstrong, unresponsive in a rental car in the parking lot of Lowe's Home Improvement on S. Forty Dr. hours later.

He was later transported to Moses Cone, where doctors pronounced him dead. Police still do not know the cause of his death and are waiting on the State Medical Examiner's report for more details.

WFMY News 2 learned Laurrissa Armstrong had moved out of the couple's home in June and started the divorce process. A month later, she filed for a protective order and was denied by two judges who said she failed to prove her case. One month later, police say her estranged husband shot her.
