Greensboro, NC -- We see them in almost every city, on game day the parking attendants are out with signs.

"I was trying to get the best parking price," said Melvin Jones, a A&T football fan.

Most can agree, it's simple you pay to park for the game. No one really questions the legitimacy of the person, who's taking your money.

"I was very excited about going to game," said Jones.

Jones told WFMY News 2, he pulled into a private parking lot, paid the attendant $5 bucks and walked to the stadium. He thought the lot looked legitimate, like other parking lots on Headquarters Drive in Greensboro.

"You can imagine to my surprise, after a great victory, we won the game! I came back to my car. The car was gone," said Jones.

He says there were about six other people in his similar situation after game. And Jones is demanding answers to why his car was towed.

"There's no way that the average person or any person should have to second guess that if I'm coming to a ball game and this whole street has parking, with people charging for parking. Ranging from $15 to as close to the stadium you can get. $10, $10, $10 and the very last spot before you hit the highway is $5, why would I see anything wrong with that? Why?"

It cost Jones' $155 for the towing services.

On Sunday, WFMY News 2 spoke to the owner of the private parking lot. He didn't want to go on camera but said he didn't know the person, who was selling parking spots. And he towed the cars because his workers needed to park and then pointed us to the signs posted on his building.

A Greensboro Police spokesperson says, this matter falls under the city's parking enforcement department. We will continue to follow-up with the department on Monday morning.
