RANDLEMAN, N.C. -- Troopers with the N.C. State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) are investigating an accident that killed a woman Wednesday night after another driver ran a stop sign.
According the NCSHP, Robert Myers was traveling south on Bowman Avenue around 8:24 p.m. when he ran a stop sign and t-boned a minivan.
Troopers told WFMY News 2 Teresa L. Mabe was driving the minivan southeast on US Highway 311 before the impact. The collision sent her vehicle into a ditch.
Both vehicles came to rest in the yard of a house on Bowman Avenue.
Mabe was ejected from her vehicle during the collision and was dead when troopers arrived.
Officers charged Myers with Driving While Impaired (DWI) and Failure to Stop for Stop Sign. He told investigators he was taking prescription medication.
NCSHP said other charges are pending and the crash is still under investigation.
