WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Greensboro Coliseum will book and manage non-school events at Wake Forest University's Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial.
Officials announced the 5-year partnership between the two venues at a news conference at WFU's Deacon Tower on Thursday morning.
As part of this agreement, WFU will pay Greensboro $115,000. The money will go into the city's general fund.
A Greensboro spokesman told WFMY News 2 Matt Brown, director of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, will not receive a raise for overseeing LJVM's non-school events.
The spokesman could not comment on new jobs at this time. However, he said that having more events could create a need to hire more people to help with parking and concessions.
WFU completed its purchase of the LJVMC from the city of Winston-Salem in August 2013.
