GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Mayor Robbie Perkins announced plans Thursday for an economic development forum that will continue the legacy of Governor John Motley Morehead.
The forum is set to include two teaching-learning conferences that will discuss transportation and its role in economic development. Preservation Greensboro says the series is set to debut in the middle of 2014 with world-renown business and political leaders as speakers.
Plans for conferences, committee membership, and conference venues will be announced in January 2014.
In remembering Governor Morehead's legacy, Preservation Greensboro says he was thought of as "the father of modern North Carolina" for his management, legislative, and business skills.
