Greensboro, N.C. -- One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and you never know when that person could be someone you know.
A group made up of family and friends are rallying together in support of a former Greensboro Police Department captain. Janice Rogers was diagnosed with breast cancer in February. She has to undergo chemo treatment daily.
Rogers is one of the women who will be cheering for women like herself from the sidelines of the Women's Only 5K Walk and Run on Saturday. She has a team of 30 walkers who will be walking in her place and supporting her with every step.
You can get in the pink fight by coming out to the Women's Only 5K Walk and Run on Saturday October 5, 2013. It starts at 9:30 a.m. Walkers will gather at the Women's Hospital Education Center on Green Valley Road. It benefits women in Guilford County who can't afford to get mammograms.
