HIGH POINT - High Point City Council held their first regular meeting Monday; their first after a special meeting last week calling for Mayor Bernita Sim's resignation.
Before the meeting started, protestors gathered outside the meeting with signs for and against Sim's decision not to step down as Mayor.
One protestor, Dianne Hartman, said she looks for a city leader to have a good financial background and one who knows how to lead. She feels Sims has not demonstrated this to the people of High Point.
Other protestors stand by Sims and say that her financial troubles are her own personal business and the matter does not concern them.
