ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The owner of the Club Xcapades nightclub, who was recently charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine, was found dead this week at her home on Parkview Drive.

"I can confirm Rhonda Lemons was found deceased by her son at her residence in East Asheville earlier this week," said Sgt. Dave Romick, spokesman for the Asheville Police Department. "Investigators tell me there was no obvious signs of foul play."

Romick said an autopsy was completed Thursday, and preliminary results "were consistent with what investigators observed, no obvious signs of foul play." A full toxicology report could take several weeks to come back, he said.

Lemons was among 10 people arrested Oct. 11 after a yearlong undercover investigation into illegal drug sales at Club Xcapades, a strip club in West Asheville. Agents with N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement and other agencies raided the Leicester Highway establishment and residences connected to the business, seizing drugs, a firearm and about $3,800 in cash, according to ALE.

Lemons, 48, faced two counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, two counts of trafficking in opium and conspiracy to traffic in opium. Her bond was set at $125,000.

The manager of Club Xcapades and Lemons' son, Jesse William Lemons IV, 26, of Asheville, was charged with trafficking in opium and maintaining a building for drugs. His bond was set at $50,000.
