STONEVILLE, N.C. -- Deputies arrested two men for a home invasion reported last month in Rockingham County.
According to the sheriff's office, the men broke into a home on Oct. 25 in Stoneville. They said the family's dog woke up the homeowners.
Investigators said the man who lives at the home shot at the intruders; one of them was armed with a hammer.
Officers said shortly after the suspects ran away, the two men checked into two different hospitals in Virginia. Their wounds matched the type of firearm the homeowner used.
The sheriff's office identified the men as Justin Omar James and Teshun Cortez Richardson. Both men are in custody, but deputies did not list the charges against them.
Deputies are still investigating this incident. Anyone with information should call (336) 634-3232.
