WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police in Winston-Salem arrested the man who they say kidnapped and assaulted a woman after giving her a religious pamphlet.

The assault happened Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the parking lot of a strip mall. Officers went to Summit Square Boulevard.

A woman told officers she was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot when a man handed her a religious pamphlet.

A short time later, she said the same man returned, opened the driver's side door of her vehicle, pulled a knife and forced his way in her car. He then demanded she drive to an ATM and withdraw money.

The woman said he got out of the car in the 3500 block of North Patterson Avenue. Police say she was not injured.

The next day, detectives released surveillance pictures of the possible suspect.

On Wednesday, police arrested Kyle Stephen Ross of Greenway Avenue in Winston-Salem. Ross is facing charges of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and First Degree Kidnapping.

A judge set his bond at $350,000.
