GREENSBORO, N.C. -- High pressure over New England will continue to bring a moist and cool northeasterly surface wind over the Piedmont.
A cold front will move through the area late Saturday. Arctic air will move into the Piedmont for Sunday and Monday.
Thursday will be cloudy and chilly a few sprinkles possible. The high will near 53. Thursday night will be cloudy with a sprinkle or drizzle possible. The low will be 46.
Friday should be mostly cloudy, but a little milder with a high near 60.
With the approach of the cold front, there will be a chance of shower after midnight Friday night and a 50 percent chance of showers on Saturday. Saturday's high will be in the upper 50s.
Arctic air will begin to filter in the Piedmont on Saturday night and Sunday. As showers taper off Saturday evening and the sky clears, the low Saturday night will be near 32.
Sunday will be mostly sunny, but blustery and cold with a high of 42. Under a clear sky Sunday night lows will drop in near 20. Some upper teens are possible in out-lying areas.
Clouds will increase Monday and a cold rain is expected Tuesday. Rain chances may extent well into Wednesday.
