You wouldn't think you could get fined for sending your child to daycare with a home cooked lunch, but a mother in Canada says she was charged $10.

According to CBS Boston, the mother sent her child to daycare with a lunch packed with roast beef, potatoes, carrots, an orange and milk. But the daycare said she failed to include grains required by the Early Learning and Child Care Department.

The mother claims the daycare sent home a note saying they charged her a fine of $5 per child and they gave her kids Ritz crackers.

She told the website Weighty Matters if she sent a lunch of "microwave Kraft Dinner and a hot dog, a package of fruit twists, a cheesestring, and a juice box" she would have followed the guidelines. However, she doesn't understand how a homemade meal made with non-processed foods does not make the cut.
