WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Three people are facing charges for prescription drugs fraud from a doctor's office.

Police said Dr. Warren Sacks filed a report in September after he suspected two employees of fraud.

According to investigators, Dawn Bruff and Ashley Scott - both employees - were making, passing and selling fraudulent prescriptions for opiate-derived medications. They said Scott's husband, Christopher Scott Jr., also passed multiple fraudulent prescriptions.

Officers say Bruff and the Scotts distributed 7,320 opiate-derived pills. Police estimate the value of the drugs at around $36,600. They say people came from as far as West Virginia to illegally obtain the pills.

Both Bruff and Ashley Scott are each facing four counts of Identity Theft, four counts of Trafficking in Opiates and four counts of Obtaining a Controlled Substance by Fraud. Christopher Scott only faces one count of each of those same charges.

Police arrested Bruff; a judge set her bond at $100,000.

Update: Late Wednesday, police said Ashley and Christopher Scott were arrested and officially charged. Ashley Scott's bond was set at $350,000.00 and Christopher Scott's bond was set at $250,000.00. The both have a court date scheduled for December 20.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (336) 727-2800.
