HIGH POINT, N.C. -- A High Point woman goes to court next month in a hit and run that killed a man in October.
The High Point Enterprise reported that 33-year-old Valondrea Breeden is to appear in court Dec. 20 on a charge of second degree murder in the Oct. 20 death.
Twenty-three-year-old Aaron Samuel Hoffman was killed when he was hit by a sports utility vehicle. Police say Breeden was chasing her ex-boyfriend at the time Hoffman was hit. Police say she crossed the centerline of the road and struck Hoffman as he and another man walked along the street.
Breeden is also charged with driving while impaired, felony death by vehicle and felony hit and run.
Police Lt. Barry Roberts said Breeden said she thought she had hit a mailbox.
