BURLINGTON, N.C. -- The Twin Lakes Retirement community in Burlington is hosting the seventh year of its two-night-only Lanes of Light, an event that has drawn more than 10,000 people and caused miles-long traffic near the setup.

The drive-through light show encompasses the Twin Lakes' 210-acre campus decorated in holiday-themed features. The award-winning display features dozens of illuminated trees, a sixty-foot sea serpent, a larger-than-life toy land and other 3-D Christmas objects.

At the end of the drive-through route are collection boxes, monitored by the Salvation Army of Burlington and Allied Churches of Alamance County. Though the event is free, event attendees are encouraged to bring canned or non-perishable food items for those organizations.

Lanes of Light runs Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Twin Lakes is located at 3701 Wade Coble Drive.
