DANVILLE, V.A -- Danville Police said five students have been charged with disorderly conduct after a fight Thursday morning at Bonner Middle School.
School Resource Officers said they learned of a potential conflict involving several students over comments made by another student. They said they warned the students Thursday morning about what would happen if the conflict escalated.
At 11:10 a.m. school staff broke up a fight involving the same students in the cafeteria.
The resource officers' investigation found that a 13-year-old female was attacked by four female students, ranging in age from 13 to 15 years old.
As the SRO's were escorting the students away from the cafeteria, they said a 14-year-old male approached them and attempted to start another fight. He was also removed from school property, along with the females.
Police say all five students were charged with disorderly conduct. The female students were also charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.
Police said their names are being withheld because of their ages.
