GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police arrested a man Wednesday on a hate crime charge for vandalism at a UNCG library.
The incident happened earlier this month in the African American Studies section of the Jackson Library.
Police are accusing Grant Patrick Ruder, of Charlotte, for writing racial slurs on walls, defacing books and carving "white power" in a desk.
Officials charged Ruder with one count of Ethnic Intimidation. He is in the Guilford County Jail under a $69,500 bond.
A UNCG spokesperson said his bond is set so high because Ruder is facing drug related charges in Charlotte.
Ruder is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
