HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Police say someone shot a 14-year-old in the face during a large fight Wednesday evening in High Point.
Investigators arrested a 16-year-old; officials charged him with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Attempted Murder. He is in the Guilford County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
Officers responded to a report of a large fight in the 200 block of Taylor Avenue. Police said the fight moved to the 700 block of South Main Street, where shots were fired. When the officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old, who had been shot in the jaw.
High Point police said EMS took the teenager to High Point Regional Hospital for a serious, but non-life-threatening injury.
