ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. -- The Alamance County Sheriff's Office says 68 people are facing narcotics charges as a result of "Operation Snowflake."
Since early Thursday morning, deputies arrested 37 of the 68 and found another already in jail.
In July 2012, the sheriff's office began an operation to curb possession, distribution and drug sales. The range of illegal substances includes powder and crack cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, LSD, non-tax paid liquor and prescription drugs.
Investigators say among the 68 people, 18 are habitual felons. There are a total of 228 felony charges and 115 misdemeanor charges.
As deputies were arresting offenders, they arrested two additional people on drug charges.
Several law enforcement agencies within the county are assisting with the arrests.
