BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Children impacted by a fire at a Burlington apartment complex will have a very 'Merry Christmas' after all thanks to one woman who saw a need to help.
Amy Yow with MACares.org found out about Monday's fire at the Trails End Apartments in Burlington and wanted to help. The fire started by a grease fire from a pan left unattended in one of the apartment units. The fire quickly spread and displaced about 36 people and 10 children.
Yow spoke with parents and found out what the children wanted for Christmas. Then she got the support from MACares.org to make their Christmas wish lists come true.
WFMY News 2 was there for the moment Yow got to turn into Santa's helper for the day passing out gifts to all the children.
