Police Seeking Man Wanted On Robbery Charges

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Burlington Police say they are asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted on attempted robbery charges.

Officers told WFMY News 2 they responded to a business at 530 South Graham Hopedale Road Saturday evening after receiving a robbery call. Witnesses told police a man approached a customer in the store with a knife and told her to give him her money and jewelry.

Police said the man then fled the business on foot and was last seen running towards Mebane Street. There were no injuries reported.

During their investigation, police said they identified the suspect as 29-year-old Daniel Ray Lineberry of Burlington. Warrants were obtained on Lineberry for Attempted Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon and Communicating Threats.

The investigation is ongoing.
