Yanceyville, NC -- A Virginia man was in court yesterday for the murder of his wife and this time he took the stand in his own defense.
Eugene Ricky Pulley told the jury in Caswell County about his relationship with his wife, Patty Jo, and the events leading up to her disappearance in May of 1999.
Pulley said his marriage had not been perfect, but said the disagreements were insignificant. He also said the couple had had financial trouble since the early 1990's.
Patty Jo Pulley's remains were found under a Hyco Creek bridge in Caswell County in the summer of 2002. Witnesses testified she had a rope looped around the remains of her hands.
