13News Now Marcella Robertson has the details

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- A young boy is making a huge difference in his community with a birthday wish dedicated to helping the homeless in his town!

All Nikolas Allgood wanted for his birthday was to feed homeless people with the help of local law enforcement.

But, after careful consideration, the 13-year-old decided to take it a step further.

So, he used his birthday money to buy personal items and made bags filled with deodorant, shampoo and soap with the help of his mother and grandmother.

Then, he called on Portsmouth police officers to help him distribute the bags to the homeless.
