Community Meets To Talk Opioid Crisis

The statewide discussion about the opioid crisis continued in Rockingham County Tuesday.

Sheriff Sam Page hosted North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein for an opioid crisis summit.

Members of the Law enforcement community, Health and Human Services, and the faith community all took part in the discussion.

Stein said he wanted to learn about the extent of the problem in Rockingham county and what the community is doing to try to solve it.
Sheriff Page said the approach should be two-fold... stop the drugs from coming in and treating people with addictions.

But in the end Stein said it will take everyone from the president to the average community member to end the opioid crisis.
