1. FIREWORKS! FIREWORKS! FIREWORKS!
You don’t have to wait until the Fourth of July to watch a spectacular fireworks display! Join the Town of Pleasant Garden for their 18th annual Independence Day Celebration. The free event includes a kid zone, inflatables, face painting, balloon twister, a music DJ, dance team performance, fireworks and much more! The celebration takes place Saturday, June 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Garden Community Center located at 5024 Alliance Church Road. Fireworks begin at sunset. You can park at Town Hall/Kirkman Municipal Building, Volunteer Park, Pleasant Garden Elementary School, Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, or Pleasant Garden United Methodist Church. You can also use the convenient free shuttle service. Inclement weather day is set for Sunday, June 25.
2. FOLLY FAMILY FUN DAY!
Take a trip back in time while having fun at the Körner’s Folly Family Fun Day! Families can take part in historic games, Victorian traditions, hands-on activities and crafts, self-guided tours, and scavenger hunts. The day also includes the Aesop’s Fabulous Fables Puppet Show with performances at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. seating is limited so make sure you make reservations for the puppet show. The event takes place Saturday, June 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. rain or shine. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $6 for children ages 6-18, $2 for children 5 and under. Korner’s Folly is located at 413 South Main Street in Kernersville.

3. TRIAD FARM TOUR!
You can get up close with farm animals, find out where your food comes from, and learn how to grow veggies as part of the Triad Farm Tour. The free event will allow you to tour seven diverse farms in Forsyth, Stokes, and Surry Counties. The farms will open their gates to visitors for guided tours, hayrides, and crafts. The tour is Sunday, June 25 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

4. PLAY THEM STRINGS!
If you like Bluegrass, this event is just for you! An entire day devoted to Bluegrass! The Bluegrass Day at Mendenhall Homeplace takes place this Saturday, June 24 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The area’s most talented bluegrass performers will pick and play on the porch. Mendenhall Homeplace is located at 603 West Main Street in Jamestown. Tickets are $5 per person, children 12 and under get in free. You’re encouraged to bring a picnic, blankets, and chairs.

5. FIRE TRUCKS ARE TOO COOL!
This is the one place you’ll want to be, to check out some sweet emergency rides! The Fire Truck Festival takes place Saturday, June 24 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. It includes tons of fire trucks, a parade, talks with firefighters, live music and a tribute. The Fire Truck Festival is the largest gathering of fire trucks for display in the Tarheel state. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 3-13, kids 2 and under get in free.
