GREENSBORO, NC - Instead of spending their Sunday relaxing and catching up on homework, NC A&T and Bennett College students knocked on hundreds of doors to spread voter information in Greensboro.
Students wanted to make sure people in their neighborhood knew about the recent changes to election laws here in NC, like no photo ID required and the reinstatement of same-day voter registration. They also gave out a voter guide and encouraged them to vote.
Common Cause NC is the nonprofit that organized the door to door canvassing. They feel like this is important because they think there is still confusion among many NC voters on what their rights are to vote.
