Guilford Metro 911 Employees were honored with accolades at a recent state conference.
The N.C. National Emergency Number Association awarded Dana Hall with the state NENA Communications Center Employee of the Year Award. Hall helped successfully locate a suspect during a crime spree in October 2015. Police said Hall helped them in determining one suspect was involved and assisted in setting up a perimeter to locate the suspect.
Guilford Metro's 911's A-Squad received the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials' Team of the Year Award for their performance during the same incident. The team worked seamlessly dispatching multiple crime scenes, ultimately playing a pivotal role in tying the events together and leading to the suspect’s arrest.
“At Guilford Metro 911, we are extremely proud of all of our employees involved in this incident,” said Melanie Neal, Guilford Metro 911 director. “Their professionalism and experience helped limit the damage of an incredibly difficult and complex crime spree.”
The state APCO/NENA state conference was held in Sunset Beach on Sept. 14.
