Tips For A Safe Halloween

Halloween is love at first fright for lots of us. Whether you like to dress up or just love to eat candy, there's a lot going on in the Piedmont Triad in the coming days to celebrate. 

Saturday, Oct. 21

Ghoulash! Halloween Festival 

Center City and LeBauer Parks

2 to 6 p.m.

Event includes games, bounce houses, game booths, costume contests and more! Some activities, food and beverages will carry a small fee.

Haunted Maze

McKee's Cornfield Maze, Orange County

From dusk until 10 p.m.

Halloween Fun At Kaleideum

There will be trick-or-treating for candy and novelty items throughout the museum as part of the Halloween Fun at Kaleideum North event. It also includes a Halloween Rock laser shows, Spooky Science demonstrations, and Science Spooktacular programs. The event is included with admission and free for members. The event is Saturday, October 21 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Kaleideum North located at 400 West Hanes Mill Road in Winston-Salem.

Friday, Oct. 27

Legends and Lanterns Halloween Tours

Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28 - 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Horton Museum Center (924 S. Main Street, Winston-Salem) 

Tours depart from the museum every 15 minutes. Tour group size is limited and reservations are encouraged.

Saturday, Oct. 28

Free Halloween Pumpkin Carving

Salem Square at the corner of Academy of South Main Streets

Saturday, Oct. 28 - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Free pumpkins provided while supplies last

Trunk-Or-Treat

Make sure the kids are dressed up in their Halloween best as the United Way of Greater Greensboro Young Leaders host Trunk-or-Treat. The event takes place Saturday, October 28 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the United Way located at 1500 Yanceyville Street in Greensboro. This is a free event and open to the public. The event also includes face painting, games, the police and fire departments, and a free book station.  If you're interested, click here

Boo At The NC Zoo 

The NC Zoo will host Boo at the Zoo. The event includes games, prizes, candy, music, a costume contest, petting zoo, performers, and more as the Africa Amphitheatre transforms into the magical festival.

The event takes place October 28 & 29 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the NC Zoo. It’s $3 per person in addition to Zoo admission.

Registration for the costume contest begins at 1:00 p.m. both days and includes three age divisions including: infant through age 3, ages 4-7, and ages 8-12.

Boo At The NC Zoo

Old Salem, from 438 South Main Street to the Horton Museum Center

Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Burlington

Sunday, Oct. 29 - 4 to 6 p.m.

Food, drinks, hay rides, bounce houses and lots of candy
