Winston-Salem Police Collect Blankets For Homeless

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Winston-Salem Police are collecting blankets, scarves, gloves, and knit caps for the homeless this winter.

Police officers collected donations outside a movie event at the Dash Stadium on Saturday evening.

You can find donation boxes at these locations:

  • Public Safety Center located on 725 N. Cherry Street
  • City Hall outside the Human Relations Department on 101 N. Main Street
  • Bicycle Patrol Office at 414 N. Cherry Street across from the Marriott hotel

The Winston-Salem Bike Patrol started the blanket drive in 2014 to help homeless people who, for different reasons, cannot or do not stay at a shelter.
