2 Arrested In Connection To Officer's Murder

SHELBY, N.C. -- Two people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Shelby Police officer.

Authorities arrested Ashley Hamrick and charged her with harboring an escapee. Hamrick spoke to NBC Charlotte's Michelle Boudin Monday and said she saw the shooting.

Also arrested is Deitria Morris, who's charged with accessory to murder.

Officer Tim Brackeen was shot Saturday while serving a warrant; he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning at CMC-Main in Charlotte.

Police are still searching for the man they say pulled the trigger: Irving Fenner, Jr., 23, of Grover. A $25,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to Fenner's arrest and conviction.

Officer Brackeen's body was moved to a funeral home from the Medical Examiner's Office on Tuesday. Hundreds of his fellow brothers and sisters in blue, along with members of the community, lined the streets and overpasses to honor the fallen during the processional.
