BURLINGTON, NC -- A 76-year-old woman is facing charges after lying to a bank to in an attempt to get money.
According to Burlington Police Emily Inge, 76, walked into Capital Bank and demanded money. She said that there was an unknown man holding another person hostage and would hurt them if she did not cooperate.
The bank refused her request and later found out that Inge had made up the story. She was arrested and charged with one count of Extortion.
Inge is at the Alamance County Jail under a $15,000 bond.
