Alamance County Officials Make Arrests In Two Rape Cases

ALAMANCE COUNTY, NC -- The Alamance County Sheriff's office says they've arrested two men in connection with two separate rape investigations in the county. 

On August 12, 2016, deputies of the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into an allegation of statutory rape against 23-year-old Jonathan Jay Alleman.  The incident reportedly happened in the southern part of the county with a non-relative female Alleman met online. The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) investigated and charged Alleman with one count of statutory rape on August 28. Alleman who lives in Shippensburg, PA was arrested in Shippensburg on August 29, 2016 as a Fugitive from Justice.  He subsequently waived extradition and was transported back to Alamance County on September 19, 2016 where he was arrested for Statutory Rape. Alleman is currently being held in the Alamance County Detention Center under a $150,000.00 secured bond. He is scheduled for his first appearance on today at 2:00 PM.


On September 18, 2016, deputies started an investigation of an alleged sexual assault of a minor that had occurred in the northern part of the county.  During the investigation, a man identified as Angel Perez was identified as the suspect. Deputies say evidence indicated he was involved in the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl. Detectives with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) arrested 42-year-old Angel Rojas Perez, of Green Level, NC, for one count of Statutory Rape and one count of Statutory Sexual Offense against a Minor.  He is in the Alamance County jail under a $350,000.00 secured bond.  He is scheduled for a first appearance in court on today at 2 pm.
