Alleged Burglar Found Asleep Under Victim's Bed

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. - A man who was found asleep in another man's house is facing burglary charges. Deputies say the suspect broke into a home and then fell asleep under the victim's bed.

According to a police report obtained by CBS Station WBTW, after deputies responded to a home on Longwood Drive Sunday, they were told by victim he found the suspect after hearing something under his bed.

He said when he looked to see what the noise was and found a man asleep.The victim says he was able to wake the man and escort him from the house.

Investigators said the homeowner also found a black backpack under the bed that contained items taken from his dresser drawers and bedroom closet.

He gave deputies a description of the suspect and they identified him as Charles Thomas Alexander. Alexander told deputies he has seizures and doesn't know how he wound up inside his home.

Deputies said they found what appeared to be marijuana on Alexander. He faces charges including Burglary and Larceny.
