Robbers Mistaken For Contractors In Winston-Salem Home Invasion

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Police say two men robbed a home in Winston-Salem with guns after residents mistakenly thought they were contractors.

The robbery happened at a home on Long Drive around 10 a.m. Friday morning.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, the residents heard the suspects outside and thought they were part of a construction team that was scheduled to do work at their home. The residents let the two men inside, and that's when they pulled out handguns demanding money and property.

Police say during the robbery, one of the suspects shot his gun inside the home. No one was hurt. However, police say one of the residents was hit by one of the gunmen during the robbery and had minor injuries.

Detectives arrested 25-year-old Logan Scott Meredith Koch as a result of the investigation. He is charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Police are still looking for the second suspect who is said to have extensive tattooing on his arms.

If you have any information that can help police, call Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800.
