Baby Found With Multiple Fractures, Parents Charged With Child Abuse

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The parents of a baby who was discovered with multiple fractures and a head injury are now being charged with Child Abuse.

The Winston-Salem Police Department said the infant, nearly two months of age was found suffering from fractures to its ribs, lower leg, and foot. The infant also had a head injury.

Investigators said in May, they discovered the child unresponsive in the house on Brownsboro Road. The baby was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and treated. Child Protective Services is also investigating. The baby is now in foster care.

The child’s father, Tommy Murchison, Jr. and its mother, Latosha Giles both face charges of four counts each of Felony Child Abuse. They were placed in jail on a $75,000 bond.
