Burglary Suspect Breaks Into Jewelry Store Only To Find Mostly Empty Cases

Richland Deputies are trying to identify a man who broke into Roof Jewelers on June 17.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A burglar broke into Roof Jewelers at 6829 Two Notch Road in Richland County on June 17, and deputies are trying to find the suspect.

Richland County deputies say the man stole a display case containing 26 pairs of gold earrings. They value the items at around $4,000.

Deputies say the man shattered the front glass door of the business and made his way inside around 10 p.m. .

Newly released surveillance video shows the suspect walking around the store. The man is carrying a hammer and is seen looking into the store's display cases. Many of the cases appear to be empty at the time of the break-in.
