Burlington Man Charged With Setting Man On Fire

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- A man already in jail has been charged in the murder of a man who died after being set on fire.

Police said, Cesar Torres-Acevedo, 34, of Burlington is charged with First Degree Murder in the death of Juan Mario Martinez Trujillo. Police said Torres-Acevedo and Trujillo knew each other. They also said Trujillo was intentionally set on fire.

In June, police found Trujillo who was critically burned on the eastbound shoulder of I-40/I-85 near the Alamance Road exit. Trujillo LATER DIED IN August as a result of his injuries. Torres-Acevedo was already being held in the Gaston County Jail on charges unrelated in the case. He currently has no bond on the new charges.
