Convicted Sex Offender Wanted After Removing Ankle Bracelet

Rockingham Co. Deputies Searching For Wanted Sex Offender

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. -- The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a registered sex offender who cut off his GPS ankle bracelet.

Deputies are looking for Rickie Lynn Hobbs, Jr. of Montgomery Street in Reidsville. Hobbs was under electronic monitoring by NC Probation & Parole until he cut off his bracelet.

A warrant is now out for his arrest for felonious Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. There’s also a warrant out for the removal of his GPS ankle device.

Hobbs was convicted in 2014 of Solicitation of Child by Computer to Commit Unlawful Sex Act.
