Burlington Couple Charged After Putting Child In Dryer

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Burlington Police say a couple is accused of abusing a young boy by placing him in a dryer. 

Police say Heather Rowland, the mother of the child, and her boyfriend, Eric Chambers were both charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse. Chambers was also charged with one count of assault on a child under 12. 

Investigators say the child had minor visible injuries. The child has been placed into temporary custody of relatives. 

Rowland is being held under a $2,500 secured bond. Chambers is being held under a $5,000 bond. Both are in the Alamance County Jail.
