Deputies Trace Stolen Cellphone To Find Robbery Suspects

BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Alamance County Sheriff's Office traced a stolen cellphone to find suspects wanted in a string of vehicle break-ins.

Deputies say some of the robberies date back to February, but the suspects were immediately connected to recent robberies in the Burch Ridge Road, Indian Valley and Durham Street Extension.

One of the victims reported Wednesday their cellphone was among the stolen items.

The officers went to a home in the 300 block of Spence Street with a search warrant and found reported stolen items, including the cellphone.

Deputies arrested Coty Lee Eastwood and his girlfriend, Kristin Michelle Sykes. Eastwood is charged with Breaking and Entering of a Motor vehicle and misdemeanor Larceny. He is additionally charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle because of an outstanding warrant with the Burlington Police Department. Sykes is charged with Accessory after the Fact.

Investigators say additional charges are pending against Eastwood and Sykes.

While deputies were searching the home, they found Rudy Ramirez Pacheco with about half-a-pound of marijuana and a gun. He is facing several drug charges and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
