Greensboro Police Release Photos of Suspect After Security Guard Shot, Killed

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro Police are still looking for a man who they say shot and killed a security guard Saturday night.

Police said that an armed man walked into the Food Lion on East Market St. and then shot the security guard, took his gun, and ran out the store.

Investigators identified the man shot as 51-year-old Anthony Smith. Smith was working as an armed security guard at the grocery store. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

According to police, there was no robbery attempt or any other kind of disturbance during the shooting.

Investigators say they're still looking for information and want to talk to anyone who was inside of the store between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
