GRAHAM, N.C. -- Officers with the Graham Police Department responded to a reported hit and run collision involving a pedestrian, on South Melville Street near East McAden Street just before 9 p.m on Monday.
Officers found 19-year-old Chaseton Antonio Bailey on the front porch of 229 South Melville Street. Bailey claimed he stepped into the roadway from a driveway, when a vehicle appeared traveling south on South Melville Street. He said the driver sounded the horn and collided with him.
Bailey told police the right front passenger portion of the vehicle hit him, sent him up onto the hood of the car and then off the passenger side near the windshield.
Police said the suspect vehicle fled the area, continuing south on Melville Street.
Police described the suspect vehicle involved as a dark blue or black Buick sedan, possibly late 1990’s to early 2000’s.
Investigators said Bailey was transported to Duke University Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and has since been released.
