High Point Man Arrested For Shooting Man Then Stealing His Car: Police

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A High Point man accused of shooting a man and then stealing his car was arrested Tuesday. 

Greensboro Police say James Antonio LeGrande is accused of shooting Raul Acosta and then stealing his car. 

Police found Acosta with a gunshot wound in a parking lot on Bessemer Avenue on June 5. 

According to police, Acosta was driving LeGrande to LeGrande's car - that's when LeGrande tried to forcibly take Acosta's vehicle. The two men struggled, and Acosta was shot. 

LeGrande is charged Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. 

LeGrande is in the Guilford County Jail without bond. 

Police say Acosta is still in the hospital.
